Nicholas Harmantzis
Nick brings a wealth of knowledge and experience into each lesson he teaches. A lover of all types of music, Nick has worked with singers of all ages and genres ranging from classical to contemporary. His focus is placed on not just creating great singers, but smart singers who understand what healthy vocal production is. Along with voice lessons, Nick teaches beginning piano and ukulele lessons to ages 7 and up.
Before moving back to Pennsylvania, Nick had a successful and talented studio of children and adults in the Bay Area. He taught Preschool-6th Grade general music in Richmond and Oakland, CA. Nick’s students have performed leads in school productions as well as community and regional theater companies. He has helped students earn placement in music programs such as Oakland School for the Arts, CAPA, and CASA.
As a classically trained Tenor, He has performed numerous operatic roles ranging from “Rinuccio” in Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi to “Apollo” in Monteverdi’s L’orfeo. He has an affinity for Gilbert and Sullivan operettas and has spent three summers in Ithaca, New York performing with the Cornell Savoyards. In the summer of 2015, Nick attended the OperaWorks Advanced Artist Program in Los Angeles, CA.
Nick holds a Master of Music Degree from The San Francisco Conservatory of Music and a Bachelor of Music Degree in voice performance from Ithaca College. He’s proficient on guitar, ukulele, piano, and saxophone.
Nick currently teach classroom music at St. Stephens Episcopal School in Harrisburg, PA and St. Barnabas Independence Mission School in Southwest Philadelphia. His official place of residence is in the Chestnut Hill Neighborhood of Philadelphia where he resides with Fianceé.
